Communion in Worship

"For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.'"
(I Corinthians 11:23-25, NIV)
Communion is worship through remembrance. It is specifically for those who have placed their faith in Jesus and asked Him to lead their lives, and is a response to one of Jesus' last instructions to His disciples.
By eating and drinking a small portion of bread and wine or juice (we provide both), we remember: Christ death that paid our sins, His constant presence and love in our lives, and His promise to return.
We celebrate "open communion" meaning that anyone who is a follower of Jesus is welcomed at the table. If your are not yet a follower of Jesus, we ask that you pass on the bread and cup and instead use the communion time for prayer and reflection.
