How Does St. Paul's Worship?
At its core, worship is giving worth to something--finding something greater than ourselves and giving it our attention, time, and emotional investment.
In the ancient world, the term of "worship" is synonymous with "work" or "works of the people". In other words, worship is a collective work of God's people, offered to God as an offering. The question in worship i snot "what did I get out of it," but rather what did you give?
Our desire at St. Paul's is to be a community of people who seek after, encounter, and worship God with full devotion and passion seven days a week, wherever we are: at our workplace, in our homes, on campus, at a restaurant--everywhere.
Showing God that He is worthy and giving Him our worship can take many different expressions. It can be a quiet moment with Him alone, singing songs to Him with others, or giving to and helping those in need.
One of the ways we worship God as a community is our weekly services or GATHERING. As we expectantly come together to seek God, He reveals Himself to us, and we can't help but respond. Both individually and in community, we respond in a number of different ways including: music and art, message, generosity, communion, prayer, service, and obedience.
