About St. Paul's Collegiate Church

Founded in 2005, St. Paul's Collegiate Church is a post-denominational, evangelical, purpose-driven, congregational, Christian church serving Northeast Connecticut.

  • post-denominational... we aren't affiliated with any particular denomination but partner with churches and ministries of all types; our congregation is made up people from many denominations (Catholic, Baptists, Lutheran, Orthodox, Presbyterian, etc) and backgrounds.

  • evangelical... as a church we affirm the historical Christian creeds and faith; our theology is consistent with historical evangelicalism.

  • purpose-driven... we believe in "church health" and that healthy churches are built around five core New Testament practices: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and mission.

  • congregational... we are a congregationally governed church.
  • While founded by UCONN faculty, students, and alumni to reach the campus and broader community, we have quickly grown to having an impact throughout Central and Northeast Connecticut. In 2007, St. Paul's began plans to launch additional "campuses" in Manchester, CT as well as other locations throughout Central and Northeast CT.

The term "collegiate" derives from the Scottish and refers to a church with more than one minister; for us, this is a reminder that "every member of the Body of Christ is a minister".

At St. Paul's Collegiate Church, we are committed to communicating the never-changing Gospel message in ways that are authentic, relevant and real.

  • We are committed to being a place where people can explore Christianity for themselves.

  • We are committed to helping people wrestle with God and with the big questions of life.

  • We are committed to being a church for people who have given up on organized religion, but have not given up on God.

  • And we are even committed to being a church for people who have given up on God, but on whom God never gives up.
